Guidance and Counselling Services

The UGR Guidance and Counselling Service is part of the Vice-Rector’s Office for Students, and is run by a group of professionals who are committed to upholding quality and excellence in the university as part of the EHEA. The Service’s mission is to offer all members of the university community – but especially students at every level – information, guidance, counselling, and training, be it to meet personal, academic or vocational/professional needs.

The service helps students to identify the strengths and weaknesses in their learning process and in their development, and to address any barriers that may be impeding their progress. By analyzing and understanding the context of any personal, academic or vocational issues, the team can help individuals to find appropriate solutions – there may be no magic wand, but as a minimum they will help you to see things more clearly.

In addition to this individual work, the team periodically offers educational workshops designed to address the fundamental concerns of students such as how to improve their study habits, techniques for effective study, how to develop better interpersonal skills, and practical tips for relaxation and stress management.
